Something I could have only imagined would happen in my wildest dreams, happened: I received two Influenster VoxBoxes in one month!
This most recent VoxBox came with a whole slue of goodies from Bite Beauty and Sephora Canada, including a dual size sharpener, two Bite Amuse Bouche Lipsticks (in Honeycomb & Whiskey), and the brand new Lip Pencils (#20 & #44). Described as having “addictively creamy coverage”, these pencils glide onto your lips with ease, allowing for the perfect application. I paired them with the coordinating lipstick, and my lips felt the softest they ever have with product applied to them. With 22 neutral shades in this collection, I’m excited to head to Sephora to try out a few additional shades!
To see these new lip pencils in action, check out my video below, featuring a very special guest. And be sure to let me know in the comments if you love this product as much as I do!

*All Influenster products have been received free for testing. Opinions are my own.
Just a few short months ago, you may remember a post I wrote, introducing Influenster and sharing some wonderful new skincare products from L’Oreal I had received to review. If you’ve never heard of Influenster before, I’ll give you the quick rundown – the site is all about reviewing products that you love in a fun and social way, while earning quirky badges and building your social impact score. As a “reward” for engaging, they send out themed VoxBoxes of products for you to enjoy, and ultimately review. When I received my first box, I figured that would be it for a while. Boy was I wrong! I’ve since received my second box containing an awesome new hair care product I’m excited to share with you: L’Oreal’s Root Cover Up.
This conveniently sized spray can of awesomeness promises flawless roots in just 3 seconds, with its smudge-free, ammonia-free formula – and it totally delivered! Available in six shades, my Dark Brown spray helped to cover up areas on my scalp where the hair was thinner and lighter (I dye my hair darker that its natural colour) and tends to be noticeably different. It turned a problem area into something I no longer have to worry about! Application is as easy as using hair spray, and the colour stayed put all day. My only word of advice – be sure to cover up areas of skin that you think may be in the line of fire. I tested the colour on my hand first (see the results in the video below, and it stained my skin for about a day. Otherwise, I’m thrilled to add this product to my lineup of daily hair care products. I’d love to know what kind of results you’ve had when using Root Cover Up, so if you’ve given it a try, let me know in the comments!

“This February we’re taking our favourite shade from dainty to daring with rule-breaking looks for all beauty lovers!”
This month’s “Pretty In Ipsy Pink” ipsy Glam Bag is all about embracing the colour pink (one of my faves). Below you will find all of this month’s products along with my reviews. Did you receive a glam bag this month? Be sure to leave me a comment and let me know what your favourite product was!
Jersey Shore Spa Anti Aging Lip & Hand Polish
This polish couldn’t have come at a better time! My hands have been suffering from the harsh, cold, winter weather, and these product has done a wonderful job at revitalizing my sad skin. The brown sugar crystals gently exfoliate your skin, while coconut oil moisturizes and leaves your hands feeling super soft. Bonus – it’s all natural, so if you use it on your lips, too, it tastes great (you can see me giving it a try in my video below)!
Chella Lip Pencil in Passionate Pink
Chella: hello, beautiful! This soft, reddish-pink colour glides on smoothly and leaves your lips looking perfectly kissable. This product lasted far longer than your average moisturizing lip colour, and the colour is the perfect shade for a daytime look.
Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment Powder in Sierra Nevada This soft, pigmented powder is the perfect addition to finish off your eye shadow look. It can be used sparingly for just a hint of shimmer during the day, or amped-up for a glamourous evening look. I love adding it when I use my neutral brown and bronze shadows.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil
I was very weary of trying this product when I read the word ‘oil’ in the name. I hate (yes, I know that is a strong word) applying greasy or oily products to my face, so I applied this product with caution. But before I even had a chance to complain, it had completely absorbed into my skin, and my foundation glided on with ease. I am a newly converted believer in primer oils!
Luxie Flat Definer Brush
I am always thrilled to see a new makeup brush in my ipsy bag – a brush alone is usually worth the cost of the entire bag! This vegan, cruelty-free brush is super soft and is perfect for applying my gel eyeliner. And if you head over to their site and sign up for their email list, you will receive a coupon code for 20% your order. Score!
