MY STYLE: HOT SUN, COLD SHOULDER

I love finding new, stylish pieces to add to my wardrobe, especially when they’re affordable and from a company I love. So when I came across this cold shoulder dress from Joe Fresh, I had to grab it.

After years of selling cute and affordable fashion in Canada, Joe Fresh finally added a plus line to their collection in a move that pleased many – they’re offering their plus styles at the same price as their standard size pieces. This darling dress caught my eye with its pretty blue hues and playful floral pattern. I purchased it online by using their size guide, and the fit was great. But if you prefer to try on their pieces before buying, you can pop in to any Loblaws store that carries the Joe Fresh line and check out the pieces in person. You won’t be disappointed by the selection or the price – this dress was originally $39.00, now on sale for only $9.00!

Which Joe Fresh piece is your favourite? Let me know in the comments below

MY STYLE: DISNEY BOUND

If you’ve been following my My Style posts, you may be surprised by this one. I often share bright, cheerful styles, and if I had to pick my favourite Disney character, I would be quick to choose Ariel or Belle. But in the magical time between Halloween and Christmas, an underrated and whimsical fellow grabs my heartstrings. His name: Jack Skellington.

The Nightmare Before Christmas captures my love for so many reasons: Halloween, Tim Burton, stop-motion animation, all things spooky and ghoulish, and of course, the Pumpkin King himself. So before I headed to the Magic Kingdom, I headed to the mall with a mission: find the perfect Nightmare attire. After stopping at Torrid and Hot Topic, I managed to find some fantastic pieces for a casual and comfortable day at the park. And for the cherry on top, I found THE best set of Jack-inspired Mickey ears in a little shop on Main Street. How fabulous are those feathers?

Which character would you choose for your perfect Disney inspired outfit?

MOVING FORWARD

They say a lot can change in a year, and boy, are they right. On the surface were some very visible blog changes; missing images, new ads (very sneak, WordPress, very sneaky), and broken links. Below the surface were some less obvious changes and challenegs that I have been going through, which have all made me become very reflective of my life and where it’s headed. Unfortunately, this has sometimes meant I’ve had less time for the things I once enjoyed, like my blogging.

But life’s too short not to make time for the things you enjoy, so here I am – back and bloggier than ever! I’m going to try and pick up where I left off, but who knows how that will work out. Maybe there will be a change in my style, or topics, or maybe not. Maybe this will be just like riding a bike. You never forget how to do that, right?!

The first change in today’s post is my writing locale. I am sitting on a beautiful dock overlooking the Gulf Of Mexico and enjoying the feeling of the warm breeze gently tossing my hair. Although it’s just a temporary writing spot (I’ll be back to the cold in no time), it’s given me the little boost I needed to get back at it. So for those who have just found me – welcome. For those that have followed me since post 1 – thanks for sticking around. I’m excited to share more with all of you! x
