AUGUST: A LOOK BACK

August has flown by, and as it comes to an end, I find myself scrolling through the last month of social media posts and looking back what was going on in my life. In addition to curating photos for my blog, I love capturing fun and playful shots for Instagram, too (I am a self proclaimed hashtag-of-the-day junkie). So, inspired by posts from a fellow, and might I add fabulous, Canadian blogger, With All My Affection, I thought I would share some of those posts with you!

This month brought along my birthday, a girl’s weekend to Buffalo, and a memorable evening in Bobcaygeon watching the final Hip concert. Here’s to a blank slate in September and another memorable month for all of you lovely Peaches, too!

MY STYLE: SUMMER SKIRTS

I am a skirt lover – short, long, flowy, or twirly, I don’t discriminate! So when the end of summer rolls around, I go on the hunt. I know what you’re thinking: “Why would you buy skirts once summer was over?” One word: CLEARANCE! Stores are making room for their fall pieces, which means the clearance racks are piling up with summer clothing.

On my recent trip to Buffalo for a girl’s weekend, I knew where my first stop would be: Lane Bryant, one of my favourite American plus size stores that hasn’t yet made its way to Canada (they ship to Canada if you shop online, but I’m a try-things-on kinda gal). I headed straight for the clearance section in the back of the store, and as I had hoped, there were skirts galore! I picked up two fabulous skirts, one of them being this super fun Wonder Woman-esque piece. Inspired by Margot Meanie’s recent post about elevating a basic look with accessories, I paired this skirt with fun accessories for a day look, and something a bit more dramatic for an evening look. MY STYLE: SPRING SCARVES

One thing that often presents a challenge during the transition from cooler to warmer months is what to wear. This past week, the weather in Toronto has been a random mix of torrential downpours (see: what’s happening outside my window right now), chilly mornings, and warm, breezy afternoons. So, what the heck do you wear? Enter: SCARVES!

All of my Spring scarves are light and easy to wear, keeping you warm if the air is crisp, but not too warm if the sun starts shining. And they’re a great way to add a pop of colour and whimsy to any outfit, whether you’re casually running some errands (throw it over a solid tee or sweater) or heading out for some fun on the town.
