Jesse’s Girl Nail Polish in Pin-Up Girl
This is the second Jessie’s Girl product that I’ve received in my Ipsy bags (the last was an eye shadow primer that you can see here). I was a big fan of the primer, so I was excited to see their name on another on of my goodies. This is quickly becoming one of my favourite polishes – it’s super shiny, and this shade of pink will look good on anyone! I’ve had it on for about a week now, with very minimal chips (score!),

Pacifica Power Of Love Lipstick in Nudie Red
Not only does this lipstick slide over your lips like a dream, this little tube packs a powerful message. With the idea that lipstick can change the world, for every lipstick purchased, Pacifica will give one to a woman in need.

Peony Cosmetics Shadow Trio
I was hoping this month’s bag would yield something sparkly for the holidays, and this shadow trio definitely delivered! The bronze shade adds the perfect touch of glimmer, and the kaolin clay helps absorb excess oils, so your party look will last all night long…dancing and all.

Lather Honey Moisture Mask
Truth be told, I have yet to use this mask. After indulging in treats over the holidays, my skin has been breaking out. When that happens, I go for something with astringent properties. But I’m excited to have this mask in my arsenal for when the cold winter weather starts to dry out my skin. I’m sure it will work wonders! Have you tried this mask yet? Let me know if you liked it!

Klorane Floral Water Makeup Remover
I can always use more eye makeup remover – it’s one of the products I use in my daily cleansing routine, so I go through it very quickly. I swapped this product for my regular version, and was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t greasy and it removed my mascara with ease. I’ll be using this one until it’s all gone!

Jessie’s Girl Cosmetics: Eye Shadow Primer
I find that my eye shadows tend to crease by the end of the day, but I’ve never thought to invest in an eye shadow primer. That’s going to have to change now that I’ve tried this Jessie’s Girl Eye Shadow Primer. It goes on silky smooth, not adding any extra weight to my lids, and my shadow looked great all day long!

Crown Brush: Deluxe Pointed Crease Brush
I’m always happy to add a new makeup brush to my collection, especially one as soft as this one. The Deluxe Pointed Crease Brush by Crown Brush makes applying my eye shadow a cinch, and it blended the colour with ease.

Beaute Basics: Gel Eyeliner with Eyeliner Brush
I don’t often use coloured eyeliners (black is my go-to), but I was excited to try this navy liner for some of my holiday looks. This gel eyeliner went on with ease, giving me a smooth, even, winged look. My only caution is to let this liner dry before you move on to your next step – it does not dry instantly, and it’s easy to smudge.

LeeAnnie Eco: Go Away Gloomy Day Serum
This serum helps to soothe and hydrate tired skin, using natural honey, aloe, and vitamin E. I’ve started to add it to my morning skin care routine, and have noticed that, despite the colder weather, my skin has remained soft and happy.

Smashbox Cosmetics: Full Exposure Mascara
I have fairly long eyelashes, so finding a mascara that gives my lashes them “oomph” I like is not easy. Although the Full Exposure Mascara doesn’t deliver a dramatic look, I love that their no clumps, no flakes formula leaves my lashes with a clean, polished look.

THE MUSIC OF QUEEN: A ROCK & SYMPHONIC SPECTACULAR

If you take a glance at my record collection, you’ll notice I have a pretty eclectic roster of music: 70% classic rock, 20% classical, 9% indie, and 1% other (the “other” is comprised of Merry Christmas Sesame Street and my mother’s original copy of the Sound Of Music soundtrack). Most people are surprised by my musical choices, but they’re not so surprising once you know a little more about my musical history…

My dad was a radio DJ in college during the mid-seventies. I grew up listening to the likes of Supertramp, Chicago, Elton John,  and The Who, and would often dance around the living room to the tunes of Led Zeppelin, while my dad told me stories of the local bands he used to interview, like Max Webster (also in my record collection). After recognizing my love for music, my mom then enrolled me into piano lessons at the age of eight, and I made my way up through the Conservatory Of Music. Although I still have the odd dance around the living room and now only play piano occasionally, my love for classic rock and classical music has not changed. It has grown along with me, and now I make every effort to see the bands I was once too young to see.

So when I stumbled across a contest held by Turn The Record Over to see The Music Of Queen: A Rock & Symphonic Spectacular, I entered every e-ballot possible. One of my all-time favourite musical groups + the entire Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony? Yes, please!  The show was dancing-in-the-aisles fantastic, and the performers did every Queen song justice. There is still a perma smile on my face, and my voice is hoarse from singing along to every word. If you get a change to see this show in your town or city, GO! Drop all your plans, get yourself a seat, and be prepared for a fun evening that even Freddie Mercury would be proud of.
